Rain … Rain … Rain ...The rain of love it was on Dec 20 2010
I personally love rain, I think it has a great mood also changing everything outside...
especially love the reflections everywhere and the rain drops on windows...
Yes, in California it's not a usual thing that it rains 5 days in a row.

Photographing the wedding of Ivy and George was quite challenging....
I could not enjoy the natural light much and Universal Hilton interior ambient lights surprised me.
Looks like they were saving on electricity....

Anyway worked a lot with my lights , and flash ….

Ivy and George are such a perfect match … they where amazing to work with. Loved every moment of it.
I know George for over 4 years and he is a great person who deserves to be happy. Ivy is one of the
magical things that George received from life...
From the bottom of my heart I wish them happiness , love, and all the best for the rest of their lives.

I can just add one thing here :

Lauren and Aaron

I was amazed …. such a sweet couple and family.
Lauren and Aaron met 4 years ago and finally their dream came true and
got married in a magical November day.
November is my favorite month of the year. The weather is great and
all November is stylish as they wedding.
Loved Lauren's colorful bouqe and her dress was classy and beautiful…
The first photograph is her dress ...looks like a flower.
After they got ready we went to a little ranch to take some more
photographs. Unfortunately we did not have a chance to get a horse I
had some very nice ideas – that was my original plan.
Anyway we found very quite little houses around.
In the end you can see some of the modified photographs:) Enjoy:)

They images show a lot of emotion and love, it was my pleasure to work
with Lauren and Aaron :)

Cris and Jon opened a new chapter in their lives.
A new path with a new beginning with the power of love.
I really enjoyed every moment of their wedding.
I loved they idea to go to a library and take some pictures there.
The unexpected happened ,there was a concert about to start so almost
everything was closed down.
We entered a building with a hope that this will lead us to a place
that I chose for the photographs.
Of course all exits were closed. Then my assistant Sarah come up with
a brilliant idea: why not take photographs in one of the classrooms...
It was so much fun you can see some of the pictures bellow.
The ceremony of the wedding was fantastic and very emotional. A
beautiful party followed the ceremony where I set up a photo booth as
well …. everybody had so much fun there... all the guests come and
took fun photographs....
Close to the end a food truck arrived and served the best hot dogs
ever. Cris and Jon took the first big bite almost together.... I loved
to work with you guys …. and again congratulations! it was my pleasure to work with you.

Pismo Beach with Mindy and Jeff

Before I left Valencia checked the weather at Pismo Beach.

The Internet showed me sunny and great weather forecast.
Well we got there with my assistant Sarah :) and yes it was beautiful
and sunny, but after we were about to start photographing this
beautiful breathtaking wedding the fog just caught the coast, from that
moment and on it was foggy all afternoon and evening...The weather
became horrible... :( no sunset photographs :(

But …..

Mindy and Jeff almost changed the mood of the weather, they were smiling
and happy.
The wedding was soooo energetic and everybody were on the dance floor all the time.
It was amazing to see the happiness and all the emotion on each person.
Loved to work with Mindy and Jeff they both have a wonderful personality.
I would like to thank all their friends for all the help but especially Pam, Sarah and Julia for all their help.

It was awesome to work with you guys :) Here is some pictures until I will be done with all the editing

Lauren Head shots

Not too long ago I worked with Lauren and we did head shots for acting and modeling.
I would like to share the 4 I liked the most.

When I’m working on head shots – but besides that as well - I really do not like to ask “please smile” :). It’s just making pictures fake unless you’re grabbing a moment of a real one!!!
I had a chance to work with casting directors and they very rarely chose a picture
with just a smile … They’re looking for attitude and the character of that person.
Look at the first picture I took of Lauren … hello there is the attitude… come out spontaneous and after I understood from her mom that she has that a lot!!! So… success :)

The second for me includes a lot of grace … smooth nice look :)

The third one. When you’re photographing think about completely different looks as well, in this case the glasses just made it for me.

In that last picture I even do not remember what I said but it was right on, she had a real smile on her face. Nice to have one or two but again casting directors are really NOT looking for this kind of look!
Do not forget a very important thing while you shooting for a head shot: you need a very soft light, no shadows on the face, clear eyes!!! Think about the background color (it’s not the main thing but it adds to the image as you can see on the first image I show above).
Do not ask your subject to put her/his head on his hands etc…
If the skin is not nice do not be afraid to retouch. Be careful if you retouch do not go far heavy on retouching ,it makes the skin look like plastic and not natural.
I saw it a lot … I personally do not like it, but it’s my point of view.

In Lauren’s case it was NOT necessary she has a baby skin.

I hope this little information helps you to start a good head shot session.

Jay and Michelle – A Real Proposal

I was so happy that Jay gave me the opportunity to capture his proposal to Michelle. Not many “future grooms” have done this -at least not yet. This is something new!

Jay said he was so afraid to get a NO. He did not eat that day and was constantly thinking about that moment. “How will I do it?” “Get onto one knee as a traditional gentleman or just stand and say the words from my heart?” Maybe combine both? He said, “My legs were shaking and my hands were ice cold but I was so excited.”

I think most of us would like to have a beautiful framed photo of that exciting moment. Proposals are the first step to spending the rest of your life married to the one you love, and the first step to committing yourself completely to the one you will do everything. I think these pictures are full of emotion and each image takes you back to that moment of happiness.

A Hello on my Blog…

I know I need to focus on weddings but I can not hold it! Well this comes after anyway.
So, it’s connected to wedding…. you see wedding …Kids…and beautiful memories!

Children the best subject to photograph.

The creativity they have it’s just amazing! They mind can not stop working for a
moment! Did you ever see a kid do nothing…? They always do something …painting
your flour or else with a marker – Do not forget it’s not they fault to use the marker!
It’s our fault to leave it front of them!!!
So, kids think about something NEW always, right?
They exploring and creating amazing things!
Day by day I’m just watching them, how a new life is developing. Yes it’s a hard work
for the parent…but every moment worth that moment! I’m very happy to capture some
of it and I’m recommending it to all of you as well!

Probably I will get old…and I will be happy to see all the images I have captured in my
life. That would be one of my best thing in my life, to seat in my chare in a rainy day
with glass of great wine and see them how they grow up .

So, please see the following pictures and understand what our kids are. The foot
prints the hand prints all this we will wish back later ….They gives you the most of the
happiness and LOVE in this Planet…

How to Photograph Children...

How to Photograph Children?

Photographing children can be very challenging. I would like to share my experiences with you, and help you to capture great portraits of your children.

I took this series of photographs of my two sons not too long ago. We had so much fun!

You can help bring the best out of your child for a photograph!

Be sure that your child is relaxed and in a good mood. Children’s eyes are very sensitive. Harsh light and colors can bother the little one’s eyes. Avoid photographing in a location with bright light behind you. Young children are not able to control their natural reactions easily; which may cause the child to squint making the eyes appear small, which of course is not desired for a portrait. Even worse your child’s eyes could be full of tears if harsh light bothers him greatly. Also, be mindful not to wear bright clothes because this can be distracting.

The other things that I suggest to keep in mind while photographing children are equally important. Search for a place where the light is even and soft around your child, an open shadow allows for an ideal photo opportunity. Always try to use natural light and avoid using a flash! Use your camera spot meter and measure the light around your child’s face. For nice effects, open your shutter a bit wider to F5.6 or F 2.8. Doing so will make the child’s face stand out more in the photo. If you desire sharper detail around the child, then open your shutter to use F8.

Remember to entertain your child! A favorite toy, music, or a story can help him to feel comfortable. This is especially important if your child is being photographed by a third party. Remember that the photographer may be an unfamiliar face in your child’s eyes and your child may be feeling a bit cautious around the stranger. Parents feel free to help the photographer and have fun during the photo session! If possible let your child look closely and touch the camera, this may help him feel more comfortable as well. Just make sure to be careful with all professional equipment - cameras are very expensive…☺

Through my experiences of photographing children; telling a story works best to catch their attention and enhance their mood. Capturing your child’s personality and precious character in a portrait is the overall goal; laughter and smiles make for beautiful photos of happy children!!

Hello everyone!

My older son Daniel started the 2nd grade today.He is so happy…(well at my age this “event “ was not so fun)But, now things have changed, he is happy and he has a great school, but of course there is always a “but” it's difficult now these days, for example I can not let him walk to school alone. There are too many bad people!

I look back on my own school days; for instance, I was not happy to start 2nd grade. However, I was able to walk to school alone and also crossed the city of Budapest every day on a bus alone !!! It was fun ....this story will ....well read it later and be back !

My name is Tibor Deme, a commercial and wedding photographer. I grew up in Hungary, at age 26 moved to the United States. Here I am working in the artistic field since the beginning. Studied fine art in Hungary and started to taste and experiment art on the white canvas, the brush was my eye. Now photography is the only thing in my life next to my wonderful family.
